-Miguel Borja, born in Tierralta on January 26th, 1993, made his debut in 2011 playing for Cucuta Deportivo. He continued his career in teams such as Cortulua, La Equidad, Olimpo, Independiente Santa Fe, Atletico Nacional, Palmeiras (Brazil), Gremio (Brazil) and, before River Plate, Junior de Barranquilla.

-In 2022, wearing the Junior jersey, Borja scored ten goals in 17 league matches, finishing third in the top scorer chart. He also had a total of 10.9 expected goals –leader in the Colombian league in this regard–, after making 63 shots in total, with a 41.3% effectiveness including the three .

-At the international level, Miguel Borja is the third CONMEBOL historic top scorer, with 38 goals, following Hernan Rodrigo Lopez with 39 and Alberto Spencer with 54. He has scored 23 goals in the CONMEBOL Libertadores Cup and 15 goals in the CONMEBOL South American Cup; he scored 16 of these goals when playing for Junior, becoming the historic top scorer.

-Aside from the 38 goals scored in continental competitions, Borja made 61 passes for shots, capitalizing on three assists both in the CONMEBOL Libertadores Cup and the CONMEBOL South American Cup, playing for Atletico Nacional, Independiente Santa Fe, Palmeiras and Junior.

-With Colombia's national football team, taking into account only official competitions and leaving all friendly matches aside, he played 19 matches, scored 5 goals, and made 1 assist. Four of those goals were scored during the World Cup Qatar 2022 playoffs, making him the team's top scorer.

-Some of his titles are the Brazilian Championship with Palmeiras (2018), one CONMEBOL South American Cup with Santa Fe (2015), and one CONMEBOL Libertadores Cup with Atletico Nacional (2016). Individually, aside from being chosen as Colombia’s Player of the Year in 2016, he was the 2018 CONMEBOL Libertadores top scorer with nine goals and the 2020 Colombian Championship top scorer with 15 goals, among other accolades.
